My name is Shorena Alexander. I am a licensed psychotherapist in private practice. My practice is built around a strong belief in human resilience and intrinsic capacity to overcome challenges. Without this belief I would not be able to impact lives of so many.
I feel passionate about the work I do and feel humbled when clients entrust me with their pain and tribulations. I also feel privileged to be a part of the journey my clients invite me to travel with them towards healing and happiness.
I counsel adults of all ages specializing in treatment of anxiety, panic attacks and depression, relationship/marital conflicts, intergenerational conflicts, parenting issues, life transitions, existential crisis, grief and loss.
My practice is culturally sensitive and is geared towards empowering clients to utilize their innate ability to make positive changes. I mainly draw upon Psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behaviors approaches; however, I structure my practice variety of ways to address specific needs of my clients and occasionally employ Humanistic, Solutions-Focused and Problem-Solving approaches. I could either work over a brief time-period on concrete, achievable goals or I could work employing a long-term, exploratory framework.
I believe a client-therapist relationship should be a natural match. Therefore, I offer a free-of-charge initial session.
